Red For Danger

Book Cover

I was asked to create a book cover for this crime novel by Jean Comber.

I sent over a few different ideas and concepts and this was the one that was chosen in the end.

It was a really fun graphic design project, you can see one of the alternate ideas at the bottom of this page.

Here's a description of what the book is about, if you like the sound of it, you can buy it on Amazon.

"Harry Lewis would like to think he was like Philip Marlowe, but he just doesn’t get the right sort of jobs. He’s a hum-drum private eye plodding along on boring surveillance jobs on cheating husbands. That is until he buys a drink in a bar for a rather gorgeous red-head. Waking up the next morning he has no memory of what happened after that, just a very sore head.
When on reading the morning paper he sees a picture of the same red-head who is wanted for questioning in connection with a murder last night, he figures he really needs to find out what happened during those missing hours. Maybe he’s into the big time at last – but maybe not the way he imagined."
